" Study in the Park"
Saturday, July 11th, 9am

It will consist of a streetcar ride of learning to Audubon park , bring your own bag lunch for the park....some more studying , and then a streetcar ride back. (we will park our cars at the deaf church on canal. Start from there and return back there.)

HOW TO BUY TRANSIT PASSES: The bus driver will have all day passes to sell us that morning. Each all day Jazzy pass cost only $3.

If you prefer, you may purchase an all day jazzy pass $3.00 online http://www.norta.com/Fares- Passes/Jazzy-Pass.aspx or pay exact change $1.25 for each boarding . We will have a total of 4boardings.( meaning 4 - $1.00 bills and 4 - quarters)

LUNCH: Don't forget to bring your brown paper bag lunch and some water or something to drink to keep you hydrated.

TIME: 9am (try to arrive at 8:45 to assure we don't leave without you!)
Meeting Place: Deaf Church on Canal Blvd. (5320 Canal Blvd)

We will all walk over several blocks to canal street to ride CanalCanal Streetcar-Cemeteries learning time along the route -- transfer street cars (on canal/ carondelet) St.St. Charles Streetcar Uptown -- arrive Audubon Park for bag lunch, more studying

Then return back on St.St. Charles Streetcar Uptown (in front of Audubon Park)-- transfer street cars (on carondelet/canal st) CanalCanal Streetcar-Cemeteries -- walk back several blocks to church to retrieve vehicle.

BABY SIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES

 

Babies can communicate using sign language as young as 8 months old. Sign language is an excellent tool to provide access to communicate with your baby before your baby is able to speak.

 

 Cost:  $80 / 6-week session

Saturdays (starts Oct 1, 2016)

It has been noted that those who learn a second language show greater cognitive development in mental flexibility, creativity, problem-solving, conceptualizing, and reasoning skills. * Whether you want your baby learn sign language in order to help them to start building their language/communication skills at an early age or if your child is Deaf, hard of hearing, autistic or non-verbal; learning American Sign Language can be a very helpful tool in communication and an excellent opportunity for you and your child learn together. Class sessions are 6 weeks long for parent(s) and babies from 8 months to 18 months. Resources such as study materials, study links and video aids are also provided for your continued practices with your family at home. If you are interested in this fun-filled, bonding, learning opportunity of learning sign language with your baby, please contact me.
